I’ve been thinking about this for many months. First through a single question: what’s mine to do? Interestingly, and perhaps surprisingly, what I thought would be a sense of direction, became a pruning that removed more to dos than it added. In its wake came a second question: how do you be love in times like these. Not as an abstraction or an ideal, but in a room, in a conversation, online, dealing with corrupt, short-sighted and fear-driven power at the end of the American empire. Another way to think about decency in the face of indecency.

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'Wow! What a Ride!'"
