This is another bucket of egocentric steam. Are you ever going to give out any solid ideas on how to manage money, or just this endless stream of self aggrandizing nothingness set in print?

Dear Joanne,

Let me take a moment to respond to some of your points, and then give you a warning. I hope you (and everyone else) read this comment closely.

Many of the ideas people have about times like this are oversimplified and dangerous.

You (angrily) mentioned simply buying gold, and said (angrily) that is the advice I should be giving you and everyone.

I would be very, very foolish to do that. Do you know why?

Do you know what both Hitler and Mussolini did? They outlawed owning gold. This is a very standard playbook in social collapse.

Do you know what the US government itself did in the 1930s? Much the same thing.

So do you still think that hiding gold bars under the bed is going to protect you from a situation like this?

Did you know any of that? Please, be honest, not with me, but with yourself. You appear to be the one at risk here, not me—after all, I predicted all this and more. Perhaps there is a lesson in what I've just taught you for you to reflect on.

Let me give you some general context now.

The blog is here to give you a little window into my thinking, to let you talk to each other, and to educate you.

About the many things I'm thinking about, not just about finance and economics, in which yes, I've written peer-reviewed books published by the world's top universities, hundreds of articles, run one of the world's biggest companies, and so forth.

I set up a practice for one-on-one advice after many, many requests. It wasn't my idea. I did it, reluctantly. I did it precisely because everyone's situation is very different, especially financially. There is no one-size-fits-all solution. People have very different levels of wealth, and can bear different levels of risk, and need different forms of advice. Not just about economics and finance, but life and lots of things.

Why did I give you the examples above? Maybe it is the case that you have things to learn from me. That is for you to judge. Even in this comment, I have tried to teach you. How much you learn is up to you. Not everyone can or will learn, especially in times like these.

In either case, I don't like or tolerate aggression towards any member of the community here. Including me, I suppose. It devalues our community, and frankly, it is the precise moral error that is ripping our world apart. We are here to learn together, and share our experiences, feelings, and thoughts. In this community, we are polite, kind, intelligent, empathic, and *always here for each other*.

Please take a step back and consider all this.

I have tried over and over to unsubscribe and apparently unsuccessfully. I would really appreciate relieving me of the subscription.
