America’s Future? It’s Bidenomics Versus the Third Wave of American Fascism

Can Bidenomics’ Big Bang Save America From the Next Wave of Fanatics and Fascists?

Today was a big day in American history, though you might not know it. Bidenomics’ Big Bang. And the future of America? It’s about Bidenomics versus the Third Wave of American Fascism.

Let me explain.

Jobs reports? They’re tedious things, the stuff of government bureaucracy. Rarely can you say history is made. And yet the most recent one does. It’s one of America’s best economic performances, ever. The US economy was expected to add about 180,000 jobs. It added 517,000. Bringing unemployment down to, at 3.4 percent, a low not seen since the 1960s.

That’s astonishing, because, well, the rest of the world isn’t doing nearly so well, and until pretty recently, even America was predicted to skirt around the lip of a downturn. This is historic stuff, because it’s proof positive that Bidenomics is working, in a big, historic, world-leading way. Europe is scrambling to copy what Biden’s doing precisely because the effects on the ground are this dramatic, and I’ll come back to all that, shortly.

Now. Ignore the numbers and jargon for a moment. Why does all this matter? Because, like I said, now, America’s future is about Bidenomics versus the Third Wave of American Fascism. Let’s take those one by one.

The Third Wave of American Fascism. Trumpism was the second wave, and the first one was the Jim-Crow-level repression that the Nazis studied intently and openly admired — and copied. The Third Wave, as I’ve discussed recently, is different. It’s more sophisticated, mature, evolved. Exemplified by Ron DeSantis, it hinges on a more barbed, potent, and dangerous set of Big Lies. Not just “the election was stolen” by “the swamp” — but something more triggering, existentially so. They’re coming for your kids.

This Big Lie is far, far more effective than the old ones — you can already see that much in action. The GOP establishment’s lined up behind DeSantis, Trump seems, feels, like old news, unable to create much energy, create his old buzz and frenzy, precisely because in this context, his Big Lies seem almost quaint. They’ve lost their mojo. “The swamp” that “steals an election” is small fry compared to your kids being abused, sexually molested, perverted, corrupted, “indoctrinated.” Because, well, they’re your kids.

This Big Lie is a way to tell the paranoid persecution fantasies of “Great Replacement” and “white genocide” right out in the open. Who’s coming for your kids, after all? Well, everyone that’s impure of faith and untrue of blood. The LGBTQ, who are “grooming” them, liberals, teachers, professors, who are “indoctrinating” them, books, even words, which attack these poor innocent children, and hurt them, violate them, damage them, brainwash them. Every bad thing you can think of is happening to the kids of the pure and true, according to DeSantis, which is — literal shades of the Nazis — books have to be banned, words have to be criminalized, teachers made into felons, and families surveilled and informed on. Kids, after all, are the carriers of genetic destiny. The master race is under threat again here, in not-so-veiled terms, in a wink-and-a-nod to fanatical movements like QAnon, which imagine the old “blood libel” that the master race’s kids are being eaten alive by the “subhumans” — the old version, Jews turning them (LOL) into matzo balls, the new one, that all the parties above are feasting on their blood to stay eternally young.

This is exactly the same Big Lie that the Nazis told, just mutated into a slightly more modern form. That is why it’s so dangerous. It’s precisely the one that helped the Nazis go from a movement many, maybe most Germans saw as little better than street thugs — to a legitimate political party, because now, they were protecting little Gunther from being turned into a matzo ball. I put that in a funny way, but only to point out that even when this most dangerous form of Big Lie seems absurd, is absurd — it works.

So. The Third Wave of American Fascism. It’s about creating Nazi-style moral panics and manias. They’re coming for our kids, Barb! Quick, we’d better protect little Johnny from…the gays…books…words…women…theories…Enlightenment…knowledge, democracy, freedom itself. The slippery slope isn’t too hard to see. What’s harder to see is that this is an evolution from Trumpist style Second Wave Fascism — that was chaotic, a try-everything-and-see-what-sticks-approach, more than a little incompetent, disorganized, unsophisticated. The culmination of all that was Jan 6th, of course — but in the hands of a figure like DeSantis, much more disciplined, organized, Jan 6th would have been that much more likely to have succeeded.

The Big Lies have evolved — and this movement is now laser focused on triggering the average American into a frenzy and panic about their kids under assault from every kind of shadowy force, with the clear implication that horrible things await them, just as before, this time, not being turned into matzo balls, but being sexually abused, brainwashed, damaged physically and mentally, and so on.
